They undergo an extensive training program before working in the field, and they stay on top of all the latest EMS updates through continued education and training.

BRAS was established in 1976 to be the primary emergency service for the peninsula communities of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor and Southport as well as its surrounding islands. We are licensed to the paramedic level with an annual call volume of approximately 1300-1400. We do a mix of emergency calls, community outreach and education, along with event stand by for our local sports teams and festivities that take place in our community. We also have a secondary focus on supporting our local healthcare facilities with patient movement as required by our ever changing healthcare needs.
